Facility Description:
MIDPL Kattupalli Port Facility (MIDPL Kattupalli Port is a lagoon type harbour protected by two breakwaters with a 3 Km long & 225 metres wide outer approach channel and an inner approach channel 1.5 Km long with a Turning Circle of Diameter 580 mtrs. The Channel and berth depth is maintained at 16 mtrs. The Port has three Berths and a Container yard. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as 8 Quay Cranes and 18 RTGCs. The terminal has an annual capacity of 1.2 million TEUs and a total handling capacity of 24.65 MMT. A CFS is also available within the Port Complex with a closed warehouse. Apart from Container Cargo the Port handles Project, Dry, Liquid and Ro Ro Cargo also. The Port harbour also has a Shipyard and a Modular Fabrication Facility which are operated by L&T Ship Building and L&T Hydrocarbon respectively.)
